I designed four stamps to capture the essence of O'ahu, Hawai'i, the place where I was born and raised. Of course, surfing is a big theme in Hawai'i, but I also wanted to experiment with concepts that are often overlooked, and might only be available to those who were born there. For example, the Kapa Lau design I used in the bottom right stamp. It's a traditional Hawaiian quilt design that I often saw throughout my childhood living in Hawai'i.
